SearXNG's own creator shows up to say the whole metasearch idea is a dead end (github.com)
SearXNG aggregates results from many search services without tracking or profiling users, is self-hostable, AGPL-licensed, and increasingly used as a search backend for local LLMs and agents — 33.2k stars, 280+ contributors.
