Wang's claim: a disagreement rarely stays about the idea. Prove someone wrong on facts and, in his framing, you have attacked their sense of self, so he now debates trade-offs only with people he judges reasonable and stays quiet with everyone else.
The thread answered with several hundred comments, and a loud faction argued the essay itself was written by a chatbot.
