Conception grew mini-ovaries from a blood draw, and the thread argued about mitochondria (conception.bio)
Conception says it turned a blood draw into induced pluripotent stem cells, then grew them into 3D "mini-ovaries" where cells ran the real script of egg-making: oogonia, meiosis, and early follicles, the first human follicles built entirely from iPSCs.
The flip came fast: eggs from adult cells may inherit mitochondrial damage that normally takes hundreds of generations to clear, though others note mitochondrial transplants already exist. Clinical use is still years off.
